Hello! IGDAM person here, I managed to get the time down to 4:37, though I don't remember what the original time was

(+1)

extremely good concept and a pretty good execution. i found it a little too difficult personally

This game was extremely fun, a bit tricky to press the combos while moving though, I am really interested in how the mechanics work

Awesome game idea, just ran into performance issues probably from the browser.

Very fun to play. I wish for mouse and keyboard that right mouse click, space and maybe X,C,V, B was used for choosing spell rotation also wished for a dash. Maybe right mouse click. Very well done one of my favorites definitely.

EDIT: played with the controller. wished one used the other shoulder buttons to make spell so I would be free to aim all the time. Maybe even use L3/R3? Found PC to have easier controls weirdly enough probably because of the aim.

Fun little shooter.  I feel Magicka influence with the on-the-fly spell crafting.  love the concept of it being a shooter like this though.  had a blast playing through it a few times.

This game is really neat.

Super impressive guys! Played it on controller at the meetup and now keyboard+mouse (a little tougher for sure!) but still a very cool experience. Good luck with the results! 💪

Wow to call this game professionally made just doesn't seem to cut it.

I honestly don't really know where to start with this one. You don't get into playing a gamejam game expecting to find something of this high quality. Everything is polished, everything works, everything looks and sounds great and above all. It was damn fun.

The number of strange and fascinating element combos is insane. I think at one point I had 3 teleporting stars that randomly teleported me to each side of the map where they hit the walls. The shear number of combinations is insane and the fact that it all works boggles my tiny artist mind.

Of course being in the dumb*** that I am I found the simplest and most affective way to quickly kill everything was just pressing 123 for quick rapid fire splash damage haha. I suspect you guys probably set that up intentionally to give people an easy time. No doubt there's far better and insane combos that I just didn't figure out when I played.

It takes a few seconds to really figure out what you are supposed to do but once you get into the groove of things it all makes sense. Honestly though I Just mashed a ton of things until I found stuff that worked haha.

Running around after the objectives was a great touch. The minimap on the bottom right was a little confusing because at first I thought it was my location not the location of the rift.

The enemies posed a constant challenge and I felt especially threatened by the range ones that were very well communicated with their laser sights.

The boss was just fantastic and really well designed. Later when it just started spinning and shooting bullets everywhere it was a bit manic and hard to see but I still managed to bring it down. I feel like the health regen is quite generous as I'm sure I took a ton of hits and somehow still survived.

I think my time was 10:06 I'm pretty sure most of that was just me wandering around like an headless chicken trying random button combos though haha.

Really fun and extremely polished game. Insane that this was done within the gamejam timeframe.

Thanks for taking the time to leave so much feedback, you bring up things that I haven't seen from anyone else yet.

The minimap stands out to me, you've definitely got a point about how vague it is, maybe adding a skull to the spot where the rift is would communicate better that's the spot where bad guys are coming from.

I'm glad you liked our game, we poured a lot attention into filling the interactions with as many small details as possible!

The coolest thing about this game to develop, is that even though I programmed every bullets behaviour I still don't know the best combos, and I still get surprised every now and then when I fat finger a new bullet and go "woah what was that".

(+2)

The fact that you are able to build a system where the combinations work with each other without being specifically programmed for that function is insane to me.

Damn Invoker... really nice game :D

- funny game title

- the itch.io page looks cool

- the whole game looks incredibly polished

- gameplay feels like a combination of Magicka and Vampire Survivors, lots of fun

- easy to get into, even without reading the game description

- sadly the whole play time was very laggy, but I am on an old laptop with integrated graphics, so that's probably not a common issue

This game is fantastic!

Love the concept and wished to see more of it. The difficulty was increasing very fast :)

GREAT game. Everything was very clear, very fun game! The hard part was the controls, it's real tough to do spell combos while moving, AND firing as well, I think it should auto fire as soon as you do the combo, or either hold a combo and fire with that combo until you decide to change it, that may make the builds a little more manageable, doing a combo, while dodging people, aiming, and firing all at the same time is a little much. Very polished work, I really enjoyed it. I can't seem to get out of the victory page, I beat the boss, and it says hit any key to go to menu, but nothing is happening. Excellent game, congrats

Very hectic shooter because you're controlling your ammo as well as movement with the same hand.

Great execution and superb quality though!

This is waaaaay to cool man ! I want a story mode about this ! Great game ! Mixing element to shoot is awesome !

(+1)

That is reaaaally cool wow

(+1)

Wow, I really enjoyed your game! I like combo mechanics, it makes so many variations for your combat style. Well done!

(+1)

Impressive light and particle effects! The sound effects and the music are dope too. Great interpretation of the theme, I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of possible spell combinations.. thus just spaming buttons. One of the coolest entries i've seen soo far!

(+1)

this is so dope! I love the combo mechanics, I think it was overwhelming at first, but learning a bunch of different combos was super fun! Looks amazing, plays really good, and I love the feedback it gives me when I play!

This game is my favorite so far.

I tried out a lot of the different builds, and I fell in love a few. (if anyone reads this, red-yellow-red is broken, and I use purple-red-red for mobility)

The boss is really fun, and I love the tone.

The only real issue I have is that I got stuck in the win-screen... (bug)

Edit: Also, the name is a bit weird, but names are hard so, eh

I hope you guys win ^^

Well done beating the game! How many times did it take to figure the game and out and around how long did it take you to beat the game? (from when you began playing till end).

PS: The name probably won't stick if we wanna make it into a full game. But for the jam we thought it was a cool cowboy motif. Any suggestions on names?

I would say it took like 2 runs (maybe 30 minutes) to beat the game.

I quickly learned to try several combinations, but I didn’t understand that the thing on the bottom right ui showed where the portal was until the second run.

The first run was sorta just trying stuff out, but the second one had me sweatily using only a few combos that I found really powerful. The first time I died to the boss (cool idea btw) and the second, I shredded it.

I don’t have any full name ideas, but I like the idea of using the cowboy motif.

Maybe… Alcheslinger? (alchemist/gunslinger)

yooo, visuals look really nice.
execution is great too.
imho overall idea is average, or maybe it is because vampire survivors like game were too popular last year

Awesome visual style, great sound effects, fun gameplay loop, looks very clean.

The only negative I can think of is inputting the different elements becomes tiring after a while.

Amazing game :D
